From AudioFile Magazine

Julie Harris's throaty voice suits the dignified little mouse of White's classic tale. Adventures are delivered with a whoop of joy; the dangers of cats and dogs and the adventure of sailing in Central Park are handled with grace and glee. White never bothered to attempt to explain the inexplicable--why a mouse is born to a human family or how the car becomes invisible (by pushing a button) or how this tiny creatures travels to upstate New York on his own, so Harris's delivery expresses all the dignity this mouse can muster. Fans of the movie may enjoy the unique turns of the original. A special treat awaits listeners--an excerpt from CHARLOTTE'S WEB read by E.B. White is appended at the story's end. D.P.D.
