Book Description
for Where the Wee Ones Go by Karen Jameson and Zosienka
From Cooperative Children's Book Center (CCBC)
“Where do the wee ones go, my love? Where do the wee ones go?” The “wee ones” in this cozy bedtime book are baby animals, each one the subject of its own rhyming quatrain answering the question found in the title and opening page spread. “Floating in Pacific waters, sweetly swaddled sons and daughters / drift hand in hand / near coastal sand. That’s where sea otters go.” In addition to sea otters, the distinct sleeping habits and geographic locales of young pandas, orangutans, elephants, alligators, rhinos, hippos, koalas, sea turtles, jaguars, condors, and polar bears are lyrically described in a narrative set against digital and mixed-media illustrations full of deep tones, soft curves, and snuggly but not too sweet baby animals in the wild. (Ages 1-4)
