Book Descriptions
for Little Tad Grows Up by Giuliano Ferri
From The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY)
Little Tadpole sees no good in growing legs. He would rather swim and play with the other tadpoles. Aunt Salamander, Cousin Newt, an old prawn, and older frogs tell him to be patient and that he will learn what to do with his legs. Still, he does not want to grow up. When a sneaky water snake al most catches him, his legs react naturally, and he springs out of the pond to safety. He discovers an amazing new world outside the water. Soft blue and green underwater scenes further depict Tad’s transformation . mjw
