In the 1880s, as the Australian railroad was being built and expanded, a very adventurous dog travelled across the country and was known by all. Bob the Railway Dog jumped from train to train, station to station, exploring Australia with the best travelers. He was welcome in every porter's room and his photo is still displayed behind glass at Adelaide Station.
