Redwolf and Windyway are 2 Stone Age Indian siblings living in what is now the Southeastern United States. Because they have no permanent shelter, camping is a part of everyday life. The children must constantly be aware of the danger presented by fierce animals and tempestuous weather. They cope with these and other difficulties, including a bully step-brother and an enemy stranger, all in the name of survival.
